Twenty years, one level voice
Assurz Driving School is one instructor, not a team behind a stock photo. My name is Nuala Brady. I am an Approved Driving Instructor on the RSA register, I have spent twenty years in the passenger seat, and I teach out of Dun Laoghaire along the south-east Dublin coast.
Before the dual controls
I came to this from nursing. Years on a ward teach you one skill that turns out to matter enormously in a learner car: how to keep your own voice level while the person beside you is frightened and certain it is all going wrong. A stall at a busy junction is not a cardiac arrest. But the panic in the body is a close cousin of it, and the way out is the same either way. Slow the breathing, name the next thing, do that thing. Then the next small thing after it.
That is why nervous learners tend to find their way to me. I do not find fear irritating. I find it ordinary, and I know it settles once the hands learn the work.
How I teach
Assured is the brand and it is also the method. The goal is not a learner who can scrape a pass on a good day. It is a driver who is genuinely test-ready, who does the right thing under pressure because they have done it calmly a hundred times when there was no pressure at all. That takes honest feedback, lessons taken in the right order, and an instructor who will not sign an EDT logbook off just to be kind.
Straight, gentle talk, no sales pitch, one learner per car, and a pace set by what you actually need rather than what fills a package. If you are not ready for the test, I will tell you so, and I will tell you exactly what stands between you and being ready.
The guides, and the nameless voice
You will notice the guides on this site never use my name. That is on purpose. When I am writing about roundabouts or the theory test, I am simply an instructor talking, the same way I would from the passenger seat, and a name would only get between you and the point. The name lives here, on this page, and nowhere it does not need to be.
